WorldCat Google Gadget
WorldCat Google Gadget now available
A Google Gadget containing the WorldCat search box has been
released and is available on the Google site at:

The WorldCat Gadget can be incorporated within two free and
customizable Google services:
- Your personalized Google home page, at
< http://www.google.com/ig?hl=en >
- Personal Web pages built with Google Page Creator, at:
< http://visit.oclc.org/t?ctl=1706029:60A29C4308A248B191B4D208A6D542BD1C1E8550E05930E2 >
The Gadget works just like the free WorldCat search box obtainable
at WorldCat.org: Both let your customers search the collections of
10,000-plus libraries worldwide, then locate the item they want at
your library or another nearby library. Let your patrons know
about it! (Instructions for installing the Gadget are below.)
How to install the WorldCat Google Gadget on your personalized
Google home page
------------------------------------------------------------------
If you have previously created a personalized Google home page,
steps 1 and 2 may be unnecessary.
1) Visit www.google.com and click the "Personalize this page" link
at upper right.
2) Create an account or sign in.
3) Click the "Add Stuff" link at right above the Gadget display
area.
4) Click the "Add by URL" link at page top, to the left of the
Search Homepage Content button.
5) Enter the following URL in the Add by URL box:
http://worldcat.org/googlegadgets/worldcatsearch.xml
6) Click OK on the "You are about to add a feature that was not
created by Google" dialog.
7) Click the "Close" link inside the Add by URL box. Add more
Google Gadgets, or return to your personalized home page via the
"Back to homepage" link at top left.
How to install the WorldCat Google Gadget on a personal Web page
built with Google Page Creator

1) Visit pages.google.com and create an account or sign in.
2) Create a new page, or enter Edit Page mode on an existing page.
3) While in Edit Page mode, click the "Add Gadget" link at lower
right.
4) Click the "Add by URL" link in the popup pane, and enter
http://worldcat.org/googlegadgets/worldcatsearch.xml
5) Click on the WorldCat logo or "WorldCat Search" link; then
click OK on the "You are about to add a feature that was not
created by Google" dialog.
6) Click OK in the Gadget Preview pane.
7) Click and drag the WorldCat Gadget to the desired page location.
8) Continue editing your page, or click the Publish button to post
your new/revised personal Web page.
