Ingenta Newsletter

Welcome
=======

... to the latest issue of eye/to/eye. It's another bumper edition as we
report on the many happenings at Ingenta over the last few months, and look
forward to those coming up.

We're very excited to announce the beta launch of our new technical blog,
"All My Eye"

http://eyetoeye.ingenta.com/library/issue18/news-allmyeye.htm

It's a more informal, realtime means for us to communicate our news and
views to you, and we hope you'll add it to the list of blogs you read.
Don't worry, it won't all be technical jargon! Speaking of which, check out
our expose' of folksonomies and social bookmarking

http://eyetoeye.ingenta.com/library/issue18/insight-socbook.htm

for a plain English overview of this hot topic.

We review January's ALA Midwinter Meeting

http://eyetoeye.ingenta.com/library/issue18/insider-ala.htm

and encourage you to come and visit us at UKSG in April, where we're
offering all delegates a free 30-day trial of our IngentaConnect Premium
service.

http://eyetoeye.ingenta.com/library/issue18/news-premiumoffer.htm

In a new regular training section, "Keeping up with Connect",

http://eyetoeye.ingenta.com/library/issue18/insider-training.htm

we start you off with a guide for downloading IngentaConnect's freely
available COUNTER-compliant usage statistics. We also provide you with an
update on the status of this year's renewals,

http://eyetoeye.ingenta.com/library/issue18/insider-renewals.htm

and keep you posted on some recent changes to our downloadable subscription
lists

http://eyetoeye.ingenta.com/library/issue18/insider-subslist.htm

And finally, as ever, we round up the list of new publishers and titles

http://eyetoeye.ingenta.com/library/issue18/news-newpubs.htm

to join the IngentaConnect service, which is getting tantalisingly close to
the 10,000 publications mark ...

On behalf of all of us on the library services team at Ingenta,

Douglas H. Wright
Vice President, Ingenta Inc.

http://eyetoeye.ingenta.com/library/

P.S. We encourage you all to take part in UKSG's library survey, which will
inform the Customer Service Excellence workshop taking place at this year's
UKSG conference in April. Go to

New CSA Resource

Cambridge Scientific Abstracts is proud to introduce a new research resource called Community of Scholars. Our customers who have received complimentary access to Community of Scholars: Social Science or have elected to subscribe to Community of Scholars: Complete will see this resource added to database selections made via login links. Our purpose is to provide visibility of this new resource to users while at the same time offering control that allows the user to remove the resource from the list of selected databases if desired. Results drawn from Community of Scholars are presented separately from the results of our standard databases and are easily viewed if of interest to the user or ignored if not. In a few weeks, we will introduce an Administrative level of control which will allow exclusion of this featured resource from login links unless specifically named in a login link parameter.

We are confident that users will find Community of Scholars to be a valuable resource for support of research.

New Title in BIOone

We are pleased to announce that the current collection of BioOne will
include two new titles effective with the first issues of 2006.
Coleopterists Society Monographs, published by the Coleopterists Society,
and Wildlife Monographs, published by the Wildlife Society, will be on the
site soon. Separate announcements will appear on this list when content
for each is available.

Additionally, effective after the final issues of 2005, the publishers of
Integrative and Comparative Biology and the Journal of Field Ornithology
will not add new content to BioOne. In accordance with BioOne policy,
content currently hosted on BioOne for these two journals will remain in
the database in perpetuity. Integrative and Comparative Biology is now
published by Oxford University Press, while the Journal of Field
Ornithology is going to Blackwell Publishing. Please contact the
respective societies or new publishers about access to 2006 content.

BioOne values input from our subscribers on content development and other
issues. To speak with a BioOne representative about content matters,
please contact either Susan Skomal, BioOne Executive Director, or Todd
Carpenter, BioOne Director of Business Development. They may be reached at
1-202-296-2296 or via e-mail at susan@arl.org or todd@arl.org.
