What's New in Earthscape, April/May 2005

In 1970, the United States Congress passed the Clean Air Act which
established air quality standards designed to minimize the air
pollution found most harmful to human health. There have been many
changes to the legislation over the years. This month Earthscape
allows a comparative look at the last 2 administrations with the
inclusion of a collection of Congressional Research Service reports
on air quality legislation.

Several new research papers explore the link between toxic
substances in our air and the public health impacts today and in
the future.

New material included in the April/May 2005 update of Columbia Earthscape
